About the Workshop
In this beginners' class, Shelly Mitchell will introduce everyone to the Art of Oil Painting. The two 4 hours lesson will cover value, color mixing, and mark-making. Students will have the opportunity to engage in a demonstration and create a small painting to take home.

"Art is not always a strictly aesthetic process; it is a means of imposing form on our thoughts and
experience so we can recognize what moves us. I render the space and objects around me to give
meaning and value to them and as a meditation. The resulting paintings embody serenity and
balance and an escape into a tranquil moment."
