Colour and Light: Secrets of Good Painting with Heather Sayeau

This 3 day workshop is for people who would like to improve their skill level in painting and explore ways of making an image. Heather will begin each day with a demo of a technique followed by a practice session. Each student will work on their own subject matter, either from life or from photos which will be provided. Still life, florals, landscape, and abstraction are among the subject matter offered. Using larger brushes, spray painting, staining the background, and drawing in paint are possibilities for exploration. Learn some of the many ways to take your painting to a new, exciting level. This workshop is best suited to those who already have some knowledge of painting.

Oil or acrylic paint–titanium white, cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, cadmium yellow, (dandelion

yellow) lemon yellow, alizarin crimson, cadmium red.

linseed oil, odourless thinner (for oil painters)

1” house paint brushes plus # 6,#8 #10 hogs hair brushes

canvases - 8x10 10x12, 12x16, 24x24 - bring a variety of sizes - 2 canvases per day.
