Volunteer with the CAC

We are thrilled that you are interested in joining our team of passionate volunteers who play a vital role at the Chester Art Centre!

Gallery Assistant 

As a Gallery Assistant, you will play an important role in ensuring that our exhibitions run smoothly and our visitors have an enjoyable experience. You will greet visitors, answer their questions, and provide information about the art on display. You will also help us maintain the cleanliness and safety of the gallery space.

 

It's a perfect job for lovers of art; spend time surrounded by art, greet guests and chat about art.

 

The CAC Gallery is open Wednesday - Sunday from 10:00am - 4:00pm during the summer, and 12pm – 4pm the rest of the year. We divide each day into two hour shifts.

Festival

If you are looking for an exciting and dynamic volunteer experience, then this role is for you. As an Event/Festival Volunteer, you will be part of our team that plans and executes our various arts events and festivals throughout the year. You will assist with event setup and breakdown, greet guests, and help with event logistics.

 

  • At the Chester Art Centre, we hope to engage the community and grow our local art scene through community events, fundraisers and festivals. Help us build a more creative community and, most importantly, have fun with us
     

  • Volunteering at a CAC event could involved helping with set-up and take-down, helping man a kiosk or art activity, sell tickets, man the bar, greeting guests, and generally offering an extra set of helping hands

Community Engagement Volunteer

As a Community Engagement Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to share your love of art with others and make a difference in the lives of our community members. 

​

  • We are looking for people to put on free arts and crafts activities for the community on Sundays from 1-3pm. We supply all the materials and work space, you help suggest an art activity and offer a demonstration to participants 
     

  • We are looking for a volunteer to host Open Studio sessions. Every other Thursday, we open up the CAC Studio for Open Studio sessions where you can bring your own materials and projects to work in the company of other artists. Hosting an Open Studio session is working on an art project at the Studio from 9:30am-3:30pm, greeting other participants and creating alongside one another.
