30 under 30 (ish):
An Exhibition and Festival Celebrating Young Artists
The Chester Art Centre is looking for a wide range of performers for this year’s summer festival,
30 under 30 (ish). The Festival will take place August 11-13th, 2023.
This is a paid opportunity for performances of all kinds including but not limited to: music, spoken word, theatre, dance, puppetry, circus and more!
Opportunities include performing on our main stage, roaming performances, performing at the exhibition evening opening party, or, we invite you to propose any alternative set up that you wish.
It is our hope to showcase performances from under 30(ish) artists at all stages of their careers, including students. We will be considering performances of all lengths.
Chester Art Centre will supply Performers with:

Honorarium: Minimum of $250/performance for each performer. (For example, if you are a band with three members, each of you would receive an honorarium of $250 for a total of $750).

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
30 Under 30 (ish) will be a vibrant celebration of the next generation of visual artists and performers, funded in part by the Canadian Government’s Federal Department of Heritage. Along with performances, this weekend festival will include an art exhibition in the gallery, interactive experiences, workshops, local vendors, food, drinks and fun!

Festival Days: August 12th & 13th, 2023
How to Apply:

a short bio, or a few lines about you and your experience performing

a brief summary of what kind of performance you would like to do and any details that will give us a sense of how we can fit you in (how long you would like to perform, if you need to be on the stage, or prefer a more interactive set up etc.)

Attachments or link(s) to your work/previous performances, and/or social media if you have them.
BIPOC artists, artists living with disabilities and those who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community are strongly encouraged to apply, as well as artists living or working in Lunenburg County.
Please note that while we will consider performers from anywhere in the Maritimes, performers will be responsible for their own transportation and accommodations.
